Our Programs Pathway

Our Philosophy

The E-Bots Robotics program is designed as a structured progression that allows students to build skills over time through guided instruction, real-world application, and increasingly independent work.

Our pathway is built in four stages: foundational classes, FIRST LEGO League Experience, advanced programming classes, and competitive robotics teams. Each stage serves a distinct purpose in helping students develop both technical ability and the mindset required to solve complex problems.

Advancement is based on demonstrated readiness and mastery, not age or grade level.

Our Goal

Our goal is not simply to teach students how to program a robot, but to help them develop the ability to think critically, work independently, and approach challenges with patience and confidence.

Through structured testing, iteration, and problem solving, students learn how to analyze their work, refine their solutions, and take ownership of their progress.

These skills extend far beyond robotics and support students throughout their academic and personal growth.

Foundation

Robot 1, 2 & 3

Robot 1–3 form the foundation of our robotics program. These classes focus on helping students develop strong programming habits, logical thinking, and reliable robot control.

Students begin by learning how robots work and how programs control movement and sensors. As they progress, they are introduced to core programming concepts such as variables, structured programming, debugging, and testing.

By Robot 3, students learn how to make their robot perform consistently and predictably. They develop the ability to break complex problems into smaller parts, test their solutions, and refine their work intentionally.

These foundational classes prepare students for the demands of FIRST LEGO League and advanced programming.

Students develop:

• understanding of how robots and programs work
• confident use of variables and structured programming
• debugging and problem-solving skills
• precision, consistency, and reliability
• independence and confidence

Application

FIRST LEGO League Experience Team

FIRST LEGO League Experience is where students begin applying their skills in a team environment using real competition tables and missions.

Students learn how to approach a competition table strategically, test their robot systematically, and improve their performance through iteration. They learn that success comes from careful testing, observation, and refinement.

This stage is critical in helping students transition from guided learning to independent problem solving.

Students develop:

• teamwork and collaboration
• structured testing and iteration
• competition table strategy
• resilience and persistence
• confidence applying their skills independently

Participation in FIRST LEGO League Experience is a key step in preparing students for advanced classes and competitive robotics.

Advanced Development

Robot 4 & 5

Robot 4 and Robot 5 focus on developing advanced computational thinking, independence, and engineering mindset.

In Robot 4, students deepen their understanding of variables and are introduced to lists, allowing them to manage more complex programs. The emphasis is on program structure, logical thinking, and debugging.

Robot 5 builds on this foundation by focusing on competition strategy, structured testing, iteration, and data logging. Students learn how to refine their work through observation, analysis, and disciplined improvement.

These classes place strong emphasis on soft skills such as patience, independence, persistence, and ownership of their work.

Both Robot 4 and Robot 5 are designed to be taken multiple times, allowing students to fully develop the skills required for competitive robotics.

Students develop:

• advanced programming and computational thinking
• structured testing and iteration practices
• independence and problem-solving ability
• confidence working through complex challenges
• engineering mindset and discipline

Robot 5 classes are limited to a maximum of 6 students to ensure close guidance.

Competitive Robotics Teams

By Invitation Only

Students who demonstrate readiness may be invited to join our competitive robotics teams, including:

• FIRST LEGO League Competitive Team
• World Robot Olympiad (WRO)
• VEX Robotics

These students apply everything they have learned in a highly independent environment. They design, test, and refine their robots while developing leadership, resilience, and advanced problem-solving skills.

Competitive robotics represents the culmination of the E-Bots pathway.
